Annual Member survey
The Fund participated in the annual Member Survey across most of the Restricted and Regional funds again in February 2011, with a large sample of Phoenix members providing valuable feedback on the performance of the Fund.
We were humbled in being accorded a second place (in a photo-finish for first!) in overall member satisfaction rating, our third ‘podium finish’ in the three years we’ve been in the study.
Far from resting on our laurels for this encouraging achievement, we’re in the process of closely analysing the feedback provided in the scores, comments and suggestions, and putting in place improvements to processes, procedures and training programs.
Federal Government Rebate - Means Testing
As most members would realise, there are attempts by the current Labor government to implement Income Means Testing of the 30/35/40% Rebate on member contributions.
The legislation to implement this, in conjunction with an increased Medicare Levy Surcharge for people who do not have appropriate Private Hospital Insurance coverage, is to be re-introduced to parliament in June or July this year, having previously been defeated twice in the Senate.
Phoenix Health Fund, through our industry association, is working hard to try and prevent these changes from happening. We will be notifying members, primarily via the ‘News’ section on our website, of progress on this matter. Should there be an adverse outcome, all members will be notified directly.

RECIEVING MEMBER BENEFITS
Phoenix Health Fund consistently provides 1-day turnaround for member claims and has achieved this for over 20 years.
For all our members who have claimed in the past or may do so in future, please note that Phoenix Health Fund will process and pay out benefits on the same day that we receive the claim, however receipts will be sent back to you in the mail, which can take additional days.
To assist in this process, please be sure to provide your up-to-date bank account details on the bottom of your claim form.
NEW ONLINE MEMBER SERVICES (OMS) AND THE iPHONE APP
Phoenix Health Fund is in the process of providing a number of new services to current members, with plans to release starting July 2011.
The new OMS page makes it easy for members to get the most from their cover. With a release date of the 1st July, the OMS will provide member users the ability to change details of their cover, check claim limits, download receipts and taxation documents and many other options.
Complementing the OMS, Phoenix Health Fund are also in development of an iPhone application, which will allow members the ability to access their OMS policy details from their iPhone.
Members will be notified when both these services will become available.
